The streamer Russian Mira accused Twitch to have it banned for nationality only and not NSFW content: “I haven’t done anything wrong. Not on damn Instagram, not on fucking Twitch, not fucking Russia. I was born in the wrong country, sorry.”
The event happened on March 4, 2022 and the reasons for the ban were not made public. It should be noted that Mira is Russian, but she lives in the United States. Moreover, it is not the first time that she has been banned from Twitch and other social platforms, events that occurred well before the Russian-Ukraine war, which according to her, however, is the crux of the matter.
Yes, because for the streamer the problem would be a punishment for her country of origin, seen as the absolute evil for theinvasion of Ukraine. Twitch would therefore only have found an excuse to ban it indefinitely, even in the absence of violations. Mira has threatened to stop streaming in case she fails to regain access to her channel through the intervention of her lawyers.
In the meantime it seems that it has also been banned from Instagram. Mira’s first Twitch ban dates back to October 2021. At the time, the reason was that she accidentally showed nudity.
