Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said that Turkish military personnel may soon leave for Azerbaijan, reports Anadolu.
According to the minister, the ground forces have completed their training.
Earlier, the Turkish parliament approved the decree of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on sending the military to Azerbaijan, where they can stay for a year. The presidential decree was supported by deputies from the ruling Justice and Development Party, the opposition Republican People’s Party, the Good Party and the Nationalist Unity Party.
It is also reported that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, at a meeting in Yerevan with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and country’s Defense Minister Vagharshak Aratyunyan, stated that Russia intends to prevent further bloodshed in Nagorno-Karabakh.
