According to the results of the investigation, published on Monday, November 1, members of the intelligence network arrested last month were planning an attempt on the life of Chechen field commander Abdul Khakim Shishani (Ruslan Azhiev) on the orders of adviser to the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov. About it informs Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah.
According to the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Delimkhanov and the alleged killer of Forbes editor-in-chief Paul Khlebnikov, Kazbek Dukuzov, have also issued orders to kill four Chechen dissidents in Europe since 2004.
Bislan Rasaev is named the head of the MIT agent network. Among those arrested are also Russians Abdula Abdulaev, Ravshan Akhmedov, Aslanbek Abdulmuslimov, Uzbek citizen Amir Yusupov and Ukrainian Igor Efrim. They were detained in early October in Antalya, Turkey, on charges of espionage and an attack on Chechen opposition figures.
It became known about the detention in Turkey of suspects in espionage on October 9, their passports and weapons were confiscated. It was noted that the arrest operation took place as part of an investigation by the Istanbul Prosecutor General’s Office.
After that, the head of Chechnya made an unofficial visit to Turkey. Aleksey Malashenko, a political scientist and head of scientific research at the Dialogue of Civilizations Institute, linked Kadyrov’s trip to the detention of the natives of Chechnya. “Such coincidences simply do not happen. I don’t know exactly how he is connected, but I admit that the detainees have certain connections with Kadyrov, the Chechen authorities, ”he suggested.
In Chechnya, they said that the delegation’s trip to Turkey was not secret, and the team did not hide its location. According to the Minister of Information and assistant to the head of the region, Akhmed Dudayev, videos and photos from the trip were immediately published on social networks. At the same time, he did not specify the purpose of Kadyrov’s visit.
