Everyone mourns the death of a little angel
They moved everyone funeral of Aron, the small child who died in the collapse of the Turin building in Bramafame street number 42, on the northern outskirts of the Piedmontese city. At the sight of the small white coffin, the mother of the 4-year-old child, who died crushed by debris, fell ill. Also present was the mayor Appendino.
Aron Tila was only 4 years old. He lived with his family in the building in Strada Bramafame 42 in Turin collapsed following an explosion, after a gas leak, on Tuesday 24 August 2021. The funeral of the little boy was held a week later.
The mayor Chiara Appendino, who had announced that the municipal administration would take over the payment of the child’s funeral, was present at the funeral, which took place a week after the tragedy. A day of city mourning was proclaimed in Turin.
The funeral took place in the church of Sant’Antonio Abate. The mayor of the Piedmontese city was sitting next to her mother Nertila, who fell ill seeing her child’s white coffin, and to her father Genci.
The archbishop of Turin Cesare Nosiglia sent to Don Luciano Tiso, who celebrated the funeral, words that moved everyone:
Our eyes are filled with tears. I am with you too, with these poor words that I entrust to your parish priest, and with me there is the whole Turin church that has no answers to your pain except those of justice but that feels united to your entire community in the name of God.
Aron’s funeral, a day of city mourning in Turin
Flags at half mast in Turin on municipal buildings and public and private bodies, as well as in schools. Blue and white balloons were released as the coffin passed.
Given the circumstances and in consideration of the general feeling of emotion and solidarity aroused and considering that the whole city, struck by this painful news, participates in the pain of the family and intends to manifest in a tangible and solemn way the condolences of the City.
