The administration of the 45th US President Donald Trump could stop the construction of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. This opinion was shared by Donald Trump himself on Saturday, July 3.
Thus, he criticized the decision of the President of the United States Joe Biden to cancel the construction of the US-Canadian Keystone XL pipeline.
“And they say Trump hasn’t been tough enough on Russia. Truth? I stopped their pipeline. The pipeline was the most important source of income for Russia. And I stopped it (construction. – Ed.). And this guy immediately gave him the green light. And in fact, I had and still have a very, very good relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. But that’s good, not bad. This is really good, “- said the former head of the American government on the air of the TV channel. Fox News during his rally in Sarasota, Florida.
In addition, the Republican accused the Democrats of spreading misinformation that during his rule Trump was overly “friendly towards Russia.”
At the same rally, Trump criticized the weakness of the Biden administration in Russia, China and Iran, and also said that the Democratic policy would result in the loss of the United States’ energy independence.
In early July, ahead of his rally, Trump traveled to the Texas border to demonstrate the imperfection of the current administration’s border policy. In the same place, he made a statement that the United States awaits the future of the “banana republic”, a fugitive country or a third world state, and also announced the final decision on his re-participation in the upcoming US presidential elections, which are to be held in 2024. The former owner of the White House noted that the further fate of his election campaign is shaped not by his personal desire, but by the needs of the country. At the same time, Trump does not recognize the existence of “fair and open” elections in the United States.
Earlier, Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized the activities of the democratic administration: he accused Biden of permitting the construction of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, and also called the falsified results of the American presidential election, which took place last year.
In turn, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki noted that the current US administration is seriously considering Trump’s statements. Biden himself, criticizing his predecessor, accused him of causing great damage to the relations of the United States with other countries, to which the former president said that Biden was “mocked” by the leaders of Russia and China, and also pointed out the unwillingness of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to talk with head of the American government.
