Today it was revealed that Troy Baker, actor of Joel in The Last of Us, has joined a group of NFTs. Unsurprisingly, the public reacted negatively, with people pointing out that the position Baker is taking will end up hurting independent voice actors. Given all these criticisms, the person in charge of countless roles in various video games, has issued a response in this regard.
Through his Twitter account, Baker said he was aware of the public’s dissatisfaction, and regretted some of the language he used in his initial message. But nevertheless, at no time has he indicated that he will leave aside the NFT market, he only evaded this topic. This was what he commented:
“I always want to be part of the conversation, even though sometimes that gets me in the middle of a sticky situation. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and giving me a lot to think about. Anyway, feel free to resume the conversation, or not, as you wish. I appreciate those who show the truth, those who offer support and those who have anger and do their best to express themselves with it.”
I always want to be a part of the conversation, even if sometimes that finds me in the midst of a loud one. Appreciate y’all sharing your thoughts and giving me a lot to think about. I’m just a storyteller out here trying to tell my story to whomever will hear and…

Editor’s Note:
While Troy Baker’s voice acting career probably won’t be affected by his business with NFTs, it’s certain that his relationship with fans will never be the same. The correct decision that many have pointed out is to simply walk away from this market, but it looks like this will not be the case.
