In the middle of last year, Triumph surprised with the news that an off-road range would be developed, at the same time announcing a factory racing program. Triumph was serious about hiring big names like Ricky Carmichael and Iván Cervantes as test drivers.
Almost a year and a half later, it is now confirmed that the brand wants to be at the start of the FIM Motocross World Championship in 2024 with a factory team, under the new flag of Triumph Racing. The new Triumph Racing division is based in the Triumph headquarters in Hinckley, as well as the Moto2 and Supersport racing activities.

The plan is to first enter a number of 250cc four-strokes in the MX2 class in 2024 and participate in the MXGP the following year with a 450. The MX team will be led by Thierry Chizat-Suzzoni, one of the most experienced and successful MXGP team owners, assisted by team manager Vincent Bereni. The duo has won more than 80 MXGP races together, so there is no shortage of experience.
Test driver Ricky Carmichael sees it positively: “It took a long time, but now that I have tested the latest versions (of the prototypes, ed.) in England I can tell you that we have the capabilities to win at the highest level !”
