The Triple M Artists collective, in existence since 2018, won the competition to choose who would be in charge of painting the mural at the south entrance of the Enrique Roca convened by the Murcia City Council, Real Murcia and the Grafitti office of the capital. Its members are María Fernández, from Abarán; María Soledad González, from Hellín, and María Escarabajal, from Redován, all three of them 25 years old and graduated in Fine Arts.
The mural, measuring 600 square meters and which must be completed before May 17, “represents the history of the club and transmits the values of the fans as a tribute to the hundred years of the Murcian team,” say the young women, who assure that “We have done a lot of research and we have had to delve into the history of Real Murcia.” The winners will receive a prize of 5,000 euros and also the materials necessary to carry out the work.
The mural will occupy the wall of the south parking lot of the Grana team's stadium and will pay tribute to the origins of Real Murcia and the passion of its fans. According to municipal sources, the goal is “to make the Grana Coliseum more Murcian and improve its surroundings, in line with the arrangement of the square, the cleaning of lots and the removal of vandalistic graffiti carried out this summer.”
According to the artists themselves, they seek to “inspire fans and establish a bond with the Grana public, creating a visual experience that lasts in memory. We seek to transmit the heritage and legacy of the club to new generations through art,” they say.
