The event was also attended by representatives of the Moscow Youth. During the ceremony, the senior choir of the Radost center sang the Russian anthem, patriotic songs were sung by the Central Youth Army Orchestra.
At the Victory Museum, festive flash mobs were held, which ended with the launch of more than a thousand balloons in the sky, painted in the colors of the Russian flag.
Earlier that day, Russian leader Vladimir Putin took part in a ceremony to raise the Russian flag at Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.
The chief of the guard of honor reported to the head of state about his readiness to raise the Russian flag. After that, the white-blue-red cloth was raised to the performance of the composition “Glory” by Mikhail Glinka by the presidential orchestra.
The ceremony ended with the performance of the Russian anthem. It was also attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and other candidates from United Russia in the elections to the State Duma.
National Flag Day was established in 1994 by presidential decree and is celebrated on August 22. On this day, various events dedicated to the tricolor are held annually throughout the country.
