The cooperative survival action RPG can be played on PC via Steam and PlayStation.
The interest aroused by Nordic-themed video games in recent months it has not stopped. The latest example of the success of this theme can be found in Tribes of Midgard, a cooperative action and survival RPG that according to those responsible has already managed to captivate 250,000 players in just seven days.
“We are excited to announce that Midgard has already been protected by more than 250,000 players. Thank you to our growing community for your continued support and for helping us achieve such an amazing feat,” confirms Norsfell with a short video on Twitter. Also, the development team in Canada has confirmed that all of them, in their attempt to contain the jotun, have defeated at least 40,000 giants.
Edited by Gearbox Publishing, Tribes of Midgard invites users to gather in tribes of up to 10 Viking legends with the main objective of stopping the Ragnarok, having to take down mythical creatures, deadly spirits and gigantic beasts while exploring a Norse kingdom full of life with challenging randomly generated dungeons and master different skills required to complete missions.
Tribes of Midgard is available on PS5 and PS4 plus PC via Steam, where users have responded with mostly positive reviews. According to the statistics website Steam Charts, Tribes of Midgard reached a peak of about 31,000 simultaneous players on Sunday. Now we will have to wait to see how the response of users progresses in the coming weekends. However, Norsfell advances the landing of more content this year.
After the success of Valheim
Norsfell’s success reminds us of other recent great Viking-themed hits such as Valheim, which drew half a million players at its premiere and has sold nearly seven million copies as of May this year. If you are interested in the setting, here are 13 Viking video games that we recommend trying.
