The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded a consulting services contract and Technical assistance to update the inventory of the geometric characteristics of the state careers, developed in 2008, and advance in the creation of a digital twin of the network, for 6.9 million euros.
The realization of this inventory will be carried out through the generation of digital models of elevations from mobile mapping data and the extraction of parameters and vector layers of the inventory of the network object of the contract.
The objective is to improve the management of the 26,500 kilometers of roads, by allowing a network capacity analysis, as well as Detail projects that rely on existing roads or network resilience studies against climate change.
The project will include not only the road trunks on the state’s road network, but also all types of state -owned roads attached to them as service roads or link branches.
Inventory extraction will be carried out from a cloud of points obtained by mobile mappingL (Mobile Mapping System), which will be provided by the consultant by the means it deems appropriate, complemented with the data from the PNOA Lidar project, coordinated by the National Geographic Institute.
The contract has been divided into five lots, of which four respond to the different geographical areas of the country and a fifth to the quality control of the previous ones. INSITU INGENIERY, INES INGENIEROS, SPACE-TECOPY, GRUSAMAR AND RAUROS ZMCOM Center are the winning companies.
