Traffic on the 50 Let Oktyabrya highway section in Yakutsk was partially resumed after a gas leak. About this on Monday, August 2, reported press service of Sakhatransneftegaz JSC.
The company clarified that the movement towards the center has already been resumed, and it is planned to open it towards the airport by 14:00 local time (08:00 Moscow time) on August 2.
The highway towards the center will be closed at 22:00 (16:00 Moscow time) on August 2 for repairs. The road surface was temporarily dismantled due to the accident, writes REGNUM… On the night of August 3, it is planned to completely restore the asphalt surface of the highway in both directions. Drivers were asked to plan their routes in advance and to use detours to avoid congestion.
The press service of the city mayor’s office clarified that the movement of heavy vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons towards the center of Yakutsk will be allowed along a different route: Namsky tract – st. 50 years of the Soviet Army. Until the opening of traffic, buses will go to the airport bypassing the motorway.
The breakthrough on the 300 mm diameter high-pressure reserve gas pipeline occurred on Sunday evening, August 1, on a four-lane highway. The leak was localized the same evening. Traffic on the section of the highway where the incident occurred was limited. The regional Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that there is no threat to nearby buildings, writes “Moscow 24”… As a result of the breakthrough, there are no dead or injured, writes RT… There will be no restrictions on gas supply for the population and for the state district power station.
