And he adds: “Born in 1990, Ilkan Karaman was a promising Turkish player who played for several teams in his country such as Tofas Bursa, Pinar Karsiyaka, Fenerbahce and Besiktas. He won the Turkish Cup in 2013 and the league of his country in 2014 playing for Fenerbahce. And with that team he made his debut in the Euroleague in the 2013-14 season, appearing in 22 games and averaging 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.”
Karaman played as a power forward and was one of the players who was always called up for his country’s national team.
“He even played for the national team in the qualifying matches for the 2013 Eurobasket, averaging 10.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 10 games played,” said the Spanish newspaper.
Ilkan Karaman was even elected in the NBA Draft by the Brooklyn Nets ranked 57th in 2012, although he would never play a single game in the NBA, according to Marca.
