There are no words to describe what happened last Sunday morning, much less an adjective comes to mind to describe how three young people from this city died. Three prominent baseball players met their deaths in a fatal and tragic accident.
Brian Camacho, a great pitcher from the Intermediate League with the Mets and who reinforced Productos Pesqueros Kino in the semifinal stage. Brian still a couple of Sundays ago a server worked for him as an umpire behind the plate. A fine pitching, owner of a good slider and withering fastball. Brian had “a doll”, he loved throwing with new balls, he broke the paradigms and beliefs that the new ball hits hard.
Another of the deceased, the popular “Seven” Alfredo Angulo, a hyperactive guy, dedicated and claw. First base was his favorite position. Another one who went to Heaven was my nephew-in-law José Tomás Martínez Pineda, who stood out as a great stopper of any team. He came to the mound to throw a light. He was brave and always had a joke or a smile for his teammates in the dugout. The popular “Cholo” was a member of Baterias Lizárraga, which is also in the semifinal stage.
All very painful, in the case of young people with a life ahead of them, nobles and who made friends by fists thanks to their way of being. These events are joined by the ampayer Carlos López, who also went to Heaven in a tragic way. The four of them didn’t deserve to end like this. Go a strong and supportive hug to the families of these four great characters of our baseball family.
