A necessary act to clarify what happened
It was supposed to be a moment of joy, but it turned into mourning for a family wondering what happened and why their little one is no longer here. In Rimini, two midwives are under investigation for home births because the baby was unfortunately born without life. A real torment for parents who now want the truth about what happened during home birth.
The Courier of Romagna says that two midwives have been entered in the register of suspects by the Rimini Public Prosecutor’s Office, for the child born lifeless at dawn on November 5th. During labor at home, the woman would have had serious problems.
However, the woman was fine and the fetal heartbeat was under control, which is why they decided to go to the hospital by car and not by ambulance. But when they are arrived at the Infermi hospital in Rimini, the heartbeat of the baby she was carrying has stopped.
According to what has already been reconstructed by the doctors who assisted the woman during the birth, the newborn had the umbilical cord tightened around the neck. The entry in the register of suspects of the two midwives who assisted the woman at home is a duty.
The Ausl of Rimini has already sent the documents to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, even if there would be no particular responsibilities towards the two health workers. It will be the PM Annadomenica Gallucci, who received the documents, establish whether there are any faults in this sad case.
Home birth, midwives investigated: a due act even if they would not have emerged responsible for the death of the newborn
The hospital and the prosecutor’s office have already ordered an autopsy on the body of the little newborn who came to light without life.
It will be essential to understand what the cause of the child’s death is and to understand if it could have been avoided.
