Sazonov is probably the coalition’s candidate for the next mayor of Helsinki.

Helsinki deputy mayor of the city Daniel Sazonov (kok) says that he received a fine on Monday for endangering traffic safety.

Sazonov tells about it message service in X.

“When I arrived in the city, I drove towards the red lights just after they changed. I received fines from the police for endangering traffic safety, a 12-day fine. I paid them right away. The fines were the first in my entire driving history,” Sazonov writes.

According to him, there were a lot of pedestrians and cyclists in traffic at the time of the incident.

“My action was wrong and inappropriate for traffic. That’s why I tell it openly, honestly and apologize for it,” he writes.

Sazonov is probably the coalition’s candidate for the next mayor of Helsinki.

Currently, he works as the deputy mayor responsible for social and health affairs and rescue operations.
