The Brazilian trade balance registered a deficit of US$ 1.307 billion in November, with growth in imports surpassing that of exports in the period. The data were released this Wednesday, December 1st, by the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Ministry of Economy. In November 2020, the result was positive in US$ 2.488 billion.
Last month, the trade flow (sum of exports and imports) increased 37%. Exports totaled US$ 20.296 billion in November (+23.2%). Imports reached US$ 21.603 billion in November (+53.1%).
In the fourth week of November (22 to 28), the trade balance was in deficit of US$ 577 million. In the fifth week of November (29 to 30) it was US$ 320 million positive.
From January to November, the trade balance accumulates a surplus of US$ 57.191 billion. The value is 19.9% higher than the same period last year. There was an increase of 34.9% in exports and 39.7% in imports in the period.
In November, there was an increase of US$ 22.39 million (16.5%) in Agriculture; growth of US$ 32.62 million (14.8%) in Extractive Industry and growth of US$ 143.48 million (28.3%) in products from the Manufacturing Industry..
In terms of imports, there was an increase of US$ 10.74 million (61.8%) in Agriculture; growth of US$ 65.39 million (248.3%) in Extractive Industry and growth of US$ 300.07 million (43.5%) in products from the Manufacturing Industry.
