Toys for Bob, the studio responsible for the recent Crash Bandicoot, remains active. The rumors about closure total turned out to be only partially true. It was instead confirmed by a report from Canadian Guy, a YouTuber very close to the company and considered very reliable on the merits, that the offices have been closed, but the reason is not to be found in the end of the software house.
More simply, Toys for Bob's workforce went from 86 to 50 people, too few to justify renting the offices it was in. So the bosses would have taken advantage of it to implement the plan to have everyone work remotely, i.e. from home. Microsoft would not have imposed anything in all this, cuts aside, accepting the developers' decision.
New projects in development
The report also talks about new projects in development, although it is not known which ones. However, the important thing is that the studio was not completely closed, because that would have been a real shame, given how many years it has been in the industry and given the quality of its latest games, including Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. Naturally it would have also been a negative signal for the entire sector, considering the very high number of layoffs in recent months.
