Toyota Spain increased its sales by 17.4% during the first nine months of the year to 74,634 units, of which 80% were electrified vehiclesas reported this Friday by the Japanese company.
Sales of the group’s hybrid cars in the Spanish market during the first three quarters grew by 13% compared to the same period of the previous year, up to 57,462 units. For its part, Plug-in hybrids represent 209% of the mix with 2,251 units, and electric vehicles 27% with 776 vehicles.
The company attributes this “success” to the launch of the second generation of the C-HR crossover, of which more than 11,800 units have been sold.
In addition, The brand’s best-selling models were the Yaris range, Yaris Cross, Corolla family, Toyota C-HR and the RAV4, which represented 83% of the brand’s total registrations.
Toyota rebounds in Europe
At the European level, Toyota Motor Europe sold 6% more cars between January and September, in total, 912,671 units, which represents a “historical record” for the group in the continental market.
In this context and within the group, the Toyota brand maintained its position as the second best-selling passenger car brand in the Old Continent, with sales growth of 5% year-on-year, up to 848,974 vehicles sold between January and September 2024.
