In a context of growth in the car market, which marks a positive change of 2.6% compared to the previous year, Toyota has been able to capitalize on highly successful models, such as the Aygo new Toyota C-HR. And overall, the Toyota and Lexus brands have registered over 100,000 deliveriesreaching a market share of approximately 7.4%.
Toyota grows in Italy
Specifically, in the passenger car segment, Toyota confirms itself first importer with over 92,000 registrations and a 7.6% share, consolidating its position among the main brands in the sector. The Japanese car manufacturer also achieved excellent results in the private market, maintaining the second position with a share of 9.6%: results that are the result of the level performance of all its models, in particular in the C-SUV segment, where the new C-HR, in particular, saw an increase of 4.2 points percentages compared to 2023, with approximately 11,500 registrations.
Electrification protagonist
In the field of Full Hybrid power, the Japanese giant continues to dominate the market with a 52% share, thanks to models such as Yaris, Yaris Cross and the new Toyota C-HR, which occupy the first three places in this category. Also Lexusin the premium segment, closed the first nine months of 2024 with approximately 4,400 registrations and a market share of 2%, marking an increase of 0.7 percentage points compared to 2023: its 100% electrified range and its mix of engines Plug-in Hybrid, in particular, it reached 16%, well above the premium market average, which stands at around 10.3%.
Lexus also did well
This approach has made Lexus particularly popular with private clients, with over 56% of registrations coming from this channel. Lexus NX had a positive impact on the annual results, with over 1,500 cars registered and a strong performance of the PHEV engine, which was chosen by over 50% of customers. The recent launch of the Lexus LBXa Full Hybrid crossover that introduces the brand to the premium B-SUV segment, has also received positive feedback from the market, with over 1,800 registrations in the first nine months of 2024 and a 15% share in the segment.
