The footage shows how crowds of visitors with suitcases in a hurry get into special buses and leave hotels. The fire came very close, it is noted that even from the recreation from the pools on the territory of the hotel, the flames of the fires are perfectly visible.
“The evacuation of tourists from the hotel, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the fire, has begun. They will be taken to hotels located in safer resort areas, ”the Izvestia correspondent reported.
It is noted that many of the tourists are not aware of the direction in which they are planning to take them. However, some even try to return to the hotel to collect their belongings.
Earlier on the same day, July 31, the Izvestia correspondent reported that the fire in Turkish Ichmiler approached houses and hotels.
According to local authorities, about 25 firefighters were involved in extinguishing the fire during the day, but the measures taken were not so effective. Firefighting forces were concentrated in the Marmaris area, where the most powerful fire was recorded.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the republic’s law enforcement agencies detained a suspect in the arson of a forest. The fact that the authorities do not exclude the occurrence of forest fires in the south of the country as a result of arson, Erdogan said the same day.
Also on the same day, the head of the Ministry of Health of the republic, Fahrettin Koca, said that the number of people affected by forest fires in Turkey had increased to 410 people.
On July 29, it became known about new outbreaks of forest fires in several areas in southern Turkey. So, after the Manavgat district of Antalya province, fires began in the resort of Bodrum, as well as Adana, Kayseri and Mersin. In the province of Antalya, at least three people were killed.
At the same time, Erdogan announced the mobilization of all possible forces to contain and extinguish forest fires. The country’s parliament assured that, despite the fact that the fires spread over a large area in the south of the country, the situation remains under control and there is no danger for tourists.
On July 30, firefighters in Turkey managed to contain 70 out of 81 forest fires.
Airplanes from Russia and Ukraine are taking part in the extinguishing, another plane will be sent from Azerbaijan, Erdogan said. The Turkish leader added that the situation with extinguishing fires is developing in a positive way.
