Tour de France 2022: covid-19 chases Tadej Pogacar, another positive

The Spanish Josean Fernández Matxín, manager of the UAE Emirates, has left the
Tour de France after testing positive for Covid-19 in an internal control carried out by the Emirati squad itself last Wednesday night.

“Good morning, now it’s me who has to say goodbye to the main goal of the year. Last night I tested positive for Covid-19 in the internal control carried out by the team itself,” Matxín reflects on his twitter account.

Matxín left a message of support and hope for his team, after losing the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar the yellow jersey at the top of the Granon for the benefit of Danish Jonas Vingegaard.

The virus has affected the team, because George Bennett had already left, and he had to go home.

Rafal Majka, who is still in the race, also tested positive, but the minimum levels indicate that it cannot spread and did not drop out.
