For a couple of days, the Lewandowski issue has been shaking the waters between his current club and his suitors. Experienced Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has set the media on fire with his most recent statements.
After ringing the whistle final, in what was the last game of the season with Bayern, Lewandowski addressed the fans making gestures that seemed to be more of a farewell than a common greeting, making them understand that his goodbye was beginning to win whole and would cease to be a mere rumour. It was a farewell and the Pole has already made it public.
Lewandowski joined the Polish national team a few days ago and what seemed to be a routine with the media turned into a confession. “Today there is one thing for sure. My adventure at Bayern is over. I can’t imagine continuing to work together“said the Polish striker. Despite the fact that he is still linked to his club for another year, FC Barcelona has already shown its interest in him and according to reports, the Catalans are doing everything possible economically to be able to sign him and have him in their ranks for next season.
What many fans of the Bavarian club did not expect was that the matter would take on such a magnitude and that is that the Pole was always characterized as a very discreet and uncommunicative guy before the media. “Bayern is a serious club. I hope they don’t keep me just because they can. My era at Bayern Munich is over.”ended.
In Germany, Lewandowski’s speech fell heavy and they did not take long to respond.
Olver Kahn, Sporting Director of Bayern, surprised by the Pole’s words said: “I can’t tell you why Robert chose this way of communicating his situation. Public statements like that get you nowhere. He should know what he has at Bayern. He became a world footballer here twice in a row“.
Despite the insistence of other clubs to get his services, time and his decisions will be the only thing that will be able to mark the route for Lewandowski.
