Tokyo 2020 – Opening ceremony of the 32nd Olympic Games
Six athletes and seven Italia Team executives are in fiduciary isolation in Tokyo after having had close contact with a positive person at Covid-19 (the Italian journalist). This was announced by Coni from Casa Italia in Tokyo. None of them are positive and the athletes can still carry out the training and compete with a molecular swab before the competition.
The six Italian athletes who find themselves in solitary confinement at the Tokyo Olympic Village concern the sports of boxing, diving and skateboarding. The measure was taken following the ‘close contact’ had by the athletes, that is the Italian journalist who left last Saturday from Rome Fiumicino who tested positive on his arrival at Tokyo Haneda airport. Seven Italian executives who were on the same flight were also in solitary confinement. However, the athletes will be able to train and compete. In the latter case, a negative molecular buffer will be needed.
