The swab prior to take-off had tested negative, now in quarantine with mild symptoms. No contagion recorded so far
An Italian journalist who arrived yesterday at Tokyo Haneda airport, coming from Rome Fiumicino, tested positive for Covid after a salivary swab. The case was confirmed by the Italian embassy in the Japanese capital: “We are following the case of a positive Italian journalist who is currently in quarantine and has only mild symptoms.” This was stated by the Italian ambassador to Tokyo, Giorgio Starace, speaking with the Italian press accredited to the Tokyo Olympic Games about the first case of positive Covid-19 by an Italian at the Olympics.
On board the flight there were also several Italian athletes, all landed with health documents in order. «When the journalist left he had a regular negative buffer – the diplomat specified – We are following the matter carefully. The person close to him was tested and did not test positive for Covid ».
