The medal number 40 of Italy at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics is the bronze of rhythmic gymnastics. The blue Farfalle closed their splendid competition in third place, behind Bulgaria and Russia. The blue Martina Centofanti, Agnese Duranti, Alessia Maurelli, Daniela Mogurean, Martina Santandrea finished with 87,700 points. Gold to Bulgaria with 92,100 and silver to the Russian representative with 90,400. With today’s podium, Italy has won a medal every day of the Olympics.

In the women’s tournament, the US won gold by beating Japan 90-75 in the final. It is the seventh consecutive gold: equaled the best winning streak ever for a team at the Games (the USA in men’s basketball, 7 golds between Berlin 1936 and Mexico City 1968).
The United States coached by Karch Kiraly conquered the gold of women’s volleyball by beating Brazil 3-0.
