Love stories don’t always have a happy ending. However, the story of María Georgina Muñoz and Daniel Hernández Yes, it did, and it was a story that could well earn the title of the most romantic film.
Through social networks, a journalist from Currulao (Turbo – Antioquia) announced the love story of an elderly couple who died at the same time and on the same day, but in different places.
Jesús Ovidio Salazar, a journalist from this district of Urabá Antioquia, who knew the couple and was in charge of spreading their love story, told a little about the lives of the elderly, without expecting to captivate the entire world with his words.
A love that transcends
“The love of old times is unique and unmatched, together we live and together we leave”with this message, family and friends said their last goodbye to María Georgina Muñoz and Daniel Hernández, popularly known as Don Nelo.
The couple, who had lived together for 65 years during which they had eight children, They died on the afternoon of Friday, May 24. However, they died miles apart.although their last goodbye was together.
Doña Georgina, 85 years old, traveled to Medellín for an appointment due to a hernia operation that she was going to undergo. However, she “turned out to be an infection, so they had to transfer her to Rionegro where she suffered cardio-respiratory arrest, then they intubated her and a few minutes later she died.”
Those close to the married couple say that, confidentially, at the same time that day Don ‘Nalo’ suffered a heart attack and was transferred to the Apartadó hospital, where he died moments later.
However, the bodies of the married couple were together again on Sunday, May 26 when the viewing and subsequent funeral honors were held.
Family and friends came to the house where they lived for more than six decades to say goodbye to this renowned couple who showed that their love was so much that they could not be separated, both in life and in death.
