USA, Biden to thank
Biden has thrown in the towel. He couldn’t do anything else, health is a serious thing, as is old age. Maybe a little late but in the end he did the only right thing. Now we need a Democratic candidate who can face the orange Trump and we will have the opportunity to talk about it.
For now let’s just thank this eighty-year-old who was a great President, first alongside Obama then as the direct leader of the largest democracy in the world. He inherited the legacy of the ill-fated Trump presidency, saving democracy from an attempted subversion carried out by Trump himself after his electoral defeat against Biden.
Let us remember that it was the years of Covid when Trump made the most stupid statements that a head of state could make in that critical moment of global pandemic. Biden has brought back some common sense, he has given voice to medicine, he has given the United States back its rightful international role, in the economy he has ridden an unparalleled growth with Wall Street at the forefront for years.
He kept the bar centered on rights, first and foremost abortion, on migrants he kept us away from the Trumpian lexicon based on walls and deportations. But above all he never denied support to those, Ukraine, who suffered the worst military aggression since the Second World War without being intimidated by the pro-Putin sirens that are spreading everywhere (including Italy).
Finally, on Israel, while supporting it without ifs and buts, he has never failed to give his warnings to the Israeli government, bringing it back to the negotiating table. Biden has never abandoned his historic allies to their fate because, ultimately, the balance of peace is based on relationships of mutual loyalty and aid (including military). For all this, we can only say thank you to Mr Biden, for his firmness, wisdom and solidarity, essential requirements for governing a great power without autocratic encroachments.
