Mexico .- The Secretary of the Interior (Segob), Adán Augusto López, delivered the Fourth Government Report of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) in the plenary session of the General Congress.
Minutes before, the first ordinary period of sessions of the second year of the 65 Legislature nearly two hours late.
The delay was due to the fact that deputies and senators from Morena were in the Aurora Jiménez auditorium, following from a distance the transmission of the message from President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, for his Fourth Government Report.
The session must start at 5:00 p.m., according to the Organic Law of the General Congress, but at that same time the President’s report began.
As of 5:11 p.m., a quorum of deputies had already been achieved with the attendance of 311 legislators.
However, until 6:39 p.m. the President of the Chamber of Deputies, santiago creeldeclared the opening of the session of the National Congress, with a quorum of 94 senators and 473 deputies.
During the waiting time, the Mexican Army and Air Force Music Band sang various melodies.
Meanwhile, in the auditorium of the Chamber, the Morena deputies registered remote attendance, but did not appear in person in plenary.
Little by little, the plenary hall was filled with legislators from the Opposition.
The coordinator of the senators of Morena, Ricardo Monrealarrived at the room shortly after 5:00 p.m., as well as other senators from the bench who did not go with the party deputies to see the presidential report, for example, Armando Guadiana and Gabriel García.
