According to what was revealed by Jason Garza, Community Coordinator of Respawn Entertainment, it seems that the development team has entrusted the series of Titanfall currently just two staff members, while the rest of the staff is focused on Apex Legends.
In case you didn’t know, Respawn Entertainment games Apex Legends, Titanfall is Titanfall 2 have recently been targeted by hackers.
Unfortunately, while the Apex Legends they were resolved within the day, the same cannot be said for Titanfall. The first chapter of the series, specifically, has severe vulnerabilities which have not been fixed in the last couple of years with any patches.
In a recent live streaming published on his personal Youtube channel (you can find it at the head of the article), the aforementioned Jason Garza said that Respawn has not left the community of Titanfall, however stating that there are 1-2 people left in the studio working on the game, while the rest is focused on Apex Legends:
All I can say is that we are working on it, which is why I stopped talking about things like that. The Titanfall community hasn’t been forgotten or abandoned or anything like that.
We’re still working on it, we just can’t reveal our moves, and we only have one or two people because everyone else is on Apex. It’s something we work on, just these things take time and you can’t just push a button to magically fix everything.
Although it’s unclear how literal Jason was when he states that one or two staff members are working on Titanfall, it is clear that the small group of people working on the two chapters of the series is due to the fact that both have already been published and therefore they need little personnel to be monitored.
We also remind you that Respawn Entertainment actually has two studios: the Vancouver studio is the one that focuses on updates and development of Apex Legends, while the Californian studio work on other titles. Jason is likely referring to the Vancouver study in this case.
This situation, however, does not exclude that a third installment of the series may not arrive in the future, but it is clear that currently the priorities of the development team are aimed at something else.
