TikTok Music was first launched in Indonesia and Brazil in July 2023. It was the successor to the music platform called Resso, from ByteDance, owner of the video social network.
During that time, a closed beta test was launched in Mexico, Australia, and Singapore, with a full rollout not taking place until October 2023. Despite ByteDance filing to trademark TikTok Music in May 2022, the platform never made its way to the United States.
Goodbye TikTok Music, you lasted one year
The video-sharing social network has announced that its music streaming service will cease to exist at the end of November. TikTok Music will cease service as of November 28, so all user data and login information will be deleted.
It should be noted that subscribers to the service via Google and whose subscription ends after November 28 should automatically get a refund or can request one through Google Play before TikTok Music closes.
While users with an Apple account must request a refund through Apple support before the 28th to get it.
On the other hand, users will have to wait a little longer, as the premium service will no longer be available once the refund is processed.
Please note that if you want to transfer your TikTok Music playlists to another music streaming service you have to do so before October 28. For more details visit the official site.
