There is no doubt that TikTok It has become the trending platform on which people watch short videos, which are mostly memes or with jokes from local countries, occasionally they can end with teachings or messages of awareness towards viewers. And the format by which it is known is that the content is vertical, but it seems that the platform itself is encouraging creators to give a literal twist to this way of viewing the video.
Recently, it has been reported that messages have arrived inviting people to create horizontal videos, this as part of an initiative called video viewing enhancer, which clearly indicates that exposure is being offered by switching to the corresponding format. The rules are clear, that the user publishes content with that orientation for more than one minute and as a reward, the platform will make the material more visible to reach a large audience.
This enhancer will begin to take effect after 72 hours of being published on the social network, although the material should not talk about politics and there should not be dubbing parodies where the user voices characters from large animation companies. Likewise, promoting products is not something that applies, so users should think about products with completely original content.
It is worth mentioning that this video platform has been experimenting with durations over the years, since it first started with 15 seconds and now we have one minute, although for certain selected users, they have been allowed to upload content of up to 20 minutes. However, these are only testing phases to verify if users accept the change well or if they prefer to stay in the slightly more ephemeral format.

Editor's note: I think that TikTok should maintain its vertical format identity and stay that way, since moving to vertical formats is already very emulating YouTube, although we cannot blame it either, since the Shorts also copied them but in a worse way due to the lack of options and filters.
