Three months after the election: SPD, Scholz and Lauterbach in high spirits

D.three months after the federal election, the SPD has been able to expand its lead over the Union, according to a survey. In the “Sunday trend” of the opinion research institute Insa for “Bild am Sonntag”, the Social Democrats have increased by one point to 28 percent. The Greens also improve by one point to 15 percent. The third government partner, the FDP, however, loses one point and comes to 11 percent.

The Union holds its value of 23 percent. The AfD loses one point to 11 percent. The left remains at 5 percent.

In the federal election on September 26th, the SPD was the strongest force with 25.7 percent, ahead of the CDU / CSU (24.1 percent). The third strongest force was the Greens with 14.8 percent, ahead of the FDP with 11.5 percent. The AfD achieved 10.3 percent. The left only got 4.9 percent, but thanks to three direct mandates they lifted the five percent hurdle and moved back into parliament.

Scholz and Lauterbach should have a particular impact on 2022

In a ranking of politicians who should have “as much influence as possible in politics” in 2022, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is at the top with 56 percent, just ahead of Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) with 54 percent. This is followed by Finance Minister Christian Lindner and CSU boss Markus Söder with 44 percent each, as well as Economics Minister Robert Habeck and Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir with 39 percent each.

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) is behind with 32 percent. The designated CDU chairman Friedrich Merz and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) also come to this value. At the bottom of the ranking is AfD boss Tino Chrupalla with 12 percent.

Insa asked 1195 people for the “Sunday trend”. The maximum error tolerance is +/- 2.9. For the list of politicians, Insa interviewed 1002 people. Eighteen politicians were asked.
