Professional golfer Eugene Siller was shot dead on a golf course near Atlanta on Saturday. The police found two other bodies next to him. It is still unclear who is responsible for the crime.
D.he Georgia police found three bodies on a golf course – one of the victims is a well-known professional golfer. The incident had already occurred on Saturday in Kennesaw at the Pinetree Country Club, as the Cobb County police said. The officers found professional golfer Eugene “Gene” Siller with a gunshot wound to the head. He was declared dead on site.
The bodies of two other people were discovered in a pick-up truck in the immediate vicinity – they too had gunshot wounds. One of the two victims is said to have been the owner of the truck. The shooter (s) have not yet been identified and are on the run, reported the regional newspaper “The Atlanta Journal-Constitution” on Monday, citing the police.
The background to the incident was still unclear – the police did not provide any information. Media reports, citing witnesses, that the truck drove onto the golf course and that golfer Siller wanted to see what had happened. He was shot in the process. The President of the US Golf Association PGA, Jim Richerson, said on Twitter “heartbroken over the senseless murder” of Gene Siller.
