Next June 7th the Summer Game Festival, a presentation that will give us a good look at what will come to the video game industry in the second half of the year. As always happens days before this type of event, the public’s expectations are quite high, to the point that disappointment can be a guarantee for some. Thus, Geoff Kieghley, organizer and presenter, has indicated that the 2024 edition will not be as large as previous installments.
Through a question and answer session on his official Twitch channel, Keighley talked a little about what we can expect at the new edition of The Game Awards. To start, noted that this presentation will last approximately two hours, which would be longer compared to what was seen last year. However, there are no plans for a final bombshell, something that has been part of previous presentations.
Keighley has pointed out that the lack of a big announcement at the end is because the video game industry in 2024 is much calmer compared to what has been seen in recent years years, and expects this to change in 2025. Along with this, it has been confirmed that in this Summer Game Fest we will not see musical performances, since everything focuses on the games and trailers. Although this is expected to return at The Game Awards.
Although many expect announcements of the caliber of Kingdom Hearts 4, Better to keep expectations low, and thus avoid some type of disappointment. So far, we know that Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, Monster Hunter Wilds, Metaphor ReFantazio, Kingdom Come Deliverance III, Star Wars: Outlaws and more games of this type will have a presence at the event. Along with this, the possibility of seeing something at the level of the DLC of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
