We have an extraordinarily diverse list of holiday spots for you.
Earlier this month we presented you with a list of holiday spots from Autoblog readers. The title said ‘part 1′, so that means you still owed us some. Namely part 2. We therefore have again an anthology with interesting cars that you have encountered in faraway places. Italy and France for example.
Aston Martin DB5
We immediately kick off with a very special spot. @frederic0307 came across a real Aston Martin DB5 on the Autobahn. One of the most iconic cars of the 1960s. What makes this car really special is the license plate. That is exactly the license plate from the James Bond movies. We don’t exactly know the story behind the license plate on this car, but it could very well be that the owner paid a fortune for it.
Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Am
Running into an Alfa Romeo Giulia in Italy is not that special, but this is not just any Giulia. @bas1997 ran into the brand new Giulia GTAm at Lake Garda. Only 500 of the GTA and GTAm will be built, so it will always be a rare sight. What you see here is the most hardcore version, which means: with spoiler, without rear seat.
NSU Prince 4
If you wait long enough, a car will become special by itself. Almost 600,000 copies of the NSU Prinz have rolled off the line, but almost all have disappeared from the streets. @benja01 came across an apparently peak pain specimen in Portugal. At first glance, the license plate looks Dutch, but it is a Portuguese old-timer registration. An NSU Prinz would also not be the ideal transport to drive from the Netherlands to Portugal. You only have a three-cylinder with about 30 hp.
Bugatti Divoc
Some cars are even special to encounter in Monaco. A Bugatti Divo for example, which is limited to 40 pieces. The power of 1,500 hp is equal to that of the Chiron, but the Divo is lighter and has more downforce. The owner of this copy is a prince from the well-known Al-Thani family. The Al-Thani’s have been holidaying in Europe for many years and take the most bizarre supercars with them.
EVO3
We keep the variety, because we go from a very expensive hypercar to a dime-a-dozen crossover. Yet this is also something special. We bet you’ve never heard of an EVO3. This is a low budget car of Italian manufacture that is also only sold domestically. There is an electric version, but in this case it is probably the 1.5 with 113 hp. @boike came across this Italian exotic in Nice.
Qvale Mangusta
The name Qvale Mangusta may sound familiar to you, but the chance that you have seen one in the wild is quite small. Only 284 copies were made between 1999 and 2002. @sabrerator found this obscure sports car in the parking lot of his hotel in Wales when he arrived with his own MG. In this photo the cars still look quite similar, but make no mistake: the Mangusta has twice as many cylinders. The Qvale has a 4.6 liter Ford V8 that delivers 324 hp.
So much for the second and last part of the holiday spots. As promised, we will also raffle two exclusive Autoblog beach towels among the uploaders. Last time @diederik888 and @ljpvink were the lucky ones. In addition, we can now also congratulate @bas1997 and @justinvw. We’ll make sure a nice towel comes your way!
