The Kia Niro, the best-selling car in the Netherlands in 2021, builds on this success and has always been electrified. With or without plug.
The future of the car is electric. But fully electric driving is not already the right choice for everyone.
Kia is also committed to electric driving and makes electrification accessible to everyone. That does not mean that you always have to go for a fully electric car right away. If your use or possibilities do not yet match fully electric driving, that does not mean that you cannot already move in that direction.
Always electrified
The new Kia Niroz always has some form of electrification on board. You can opt for a hybrid drive, a plug-in hybrid solution or a fully electric car. There is a suitable motorization for every need and you always drive part of your route completely electrically.
In this way, the brand makes electrification accessible to everyone. Depending on your use, you can make a smart and sustainable choice for the motorization that suits you.
Hybrid
For users who do not have the option of frequent charging, there is the Kia Niro Hybrid. The Niro Hybrid (HEV) combines a 1.6 liter petrol engine with an electric motor. Together they deliver a power of 141 hp. Both work smartly together to reduce energy consumption, save fuel and generate energy.
When braking or driving downhill, energy is generated that is stored in the battery pack, which in turn can be used to power the car. The Kia Niro Hybrid cannot be charged with a charging cable.
Plug-in Hybrid
Like the Hybrid, the Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) is equipped with two motors, but with a larger battery pack. The combined power is also higher with a total of 183 horsepower. Plug-in says it all, here there is the option to charge the battery pack with a charging cable via a normal socket or charging station.
Because of that larger battery pack and the option to charge with a cable, the Kia Niro PHEV can drive further and more often fully electrically and your average fuel consumption is lower. Good for the wallet and good for the environment. By charging the battery pack as much as possible, you make optimal use of the possibilities of a PHEV.
With a fully electric range of about 65 kilometers it is quite possible for most people to cover the daily commute kilometers completely electrically. Especially if you can also charge at work.
If larger distances have to be bridged with some regularity outside those kilometres, this is not a problem due to the presence of the fuel engine. A caravan up to 1,300 kilograms is also no problem for the Kia Niro HEV and the PHEV.
Fully electric
The third option in the new Kia Niro family is the Kia Niro EV. This car is fully electric and is powered by a powerful electric motor. With a range of up to 460 kilometers (WLTP) you come a long way. If you stop on the way at a 100 kW fast charger, the car will be 80 percent charged in about 40 minutes and you can continue on your way.
Electric for everyone
Since its introduction on the European market, the Kia brand has been working on making mobility accessible and accessible to everyone. Now that we all have to electrify, the brand is also taking responsibility here.
The Kia Niro is always standard equipped with things such as climate control, full-map navigation, multimode display and adaptive cruise control. And of course the well-known standard 7-year Kia factory warranty.
