With River consecrated as champion and in a tournament in which there are no relegations to the First National, the greatest attraction of the championship became the qualification for international tournaments.
There are two dates left for the final and there are many expectations to know who will be classified for the Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana. Here we tell you the overview of the different teams.
At the moment there are three teams that have been guaranteed a spot. Colón (winner of the Professional League Cup), River (winner of the Professional League) and Vélez (one of the teams with the most points in the annual table).
Three places have yet to be defined and one of them will be the champion of the Argentine Cup. Today they play Godoy Cruz vs Talleres, to define who will be Boca’s rival on December 8. The other two places are defined by the annual table, which today would be Workshops (63) and Students (60). It is worth noting that if the Cordobans win the Argentine Cup they will release a quota.
Banfield has already secured a place for being runner-up and for now Boca (59), Lanús (55), Independiente (54), Defensa y Justicia (53) and Racing (50) are qualifying. If one manages to classify the Libertadores by another route, a quota will be released and for now Union would enter.
