Porsche has done it again. With the presentation of the new Porsche Taycan GTS 2025the German brand has managed to take its electric sedan to an even more exciting level. And this is the version most focused on driving pleasure, the most sporty in the broad sense of the word.
The Porsches with the last name GTS are never the most powerful, but they are the ones that are designed to offer a perfect combination of pure performance and pleasure (and efficiency) when driving them. With the Taycan it was not going to be less.
Heart-stopping power and performance
Just because it is not the most powerful version does not mean that it falls short. It must be taken into account that there are versions of the Taycan with up to 1,034 horsepower (Turbo GT). The Taycan GTS settles for less, but it doesn’t mess around. Its two electric motors can deliver up to 700 hp (515 kW) maximum powersurpassing its predecessor by 102 horses.
But that’s not all: Porsche has introduced a function push-to-pass which adds a extra 95 hp (70 kW) for 10 secondsideal for making lightning overtakes. As if the standard power were little.
When you use the Launch Control, the Taycan GTS 2025 can do the 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds (0.4 seconds faster than its predecessors) and 0 to 200 km/h in 10.4 seconds. Figures that, with a combustion engine, are only within the reach of supercars.
With the model update earlier this year, versions with Performance Plus battery have 97 kWh of usable capacity. With this battery, the new Taycan GTS homologates up to 628 kilometers of autonomy in the WLTP cycle, depending on the equipment and tires fitted (up to 601 km in the GTS Sport Turismo).
Two bodies with two different styles
Porsche offers the Taycan GTS in two variants: Sedan and Sport Tourismthe latter for those looking for extra practicality without sacrificing performance. The exterior design remains faithful to the GTS spirit, with black and Anthracite gray details that highlight its sporty character. Both the stock wheels 20 inches as the optional 21 inches They are painted in gray, providing a more aggressive look.
Inside the cabin, luxury and technology go hand in hand. The Taycan GTS come standard with extended Race-Tex side panels and smooth black leather elements. Also included are adaptive sports seats Plus (with 18-way electric adjustment), the GT multifunction sports steering wheel with mode selector and heating, as well as the Sport Chrono package, which has the function push-to-pass and track mode.
Also standard is the 14-speaker BOSE sound system and 710 watts, although a Burmester can optionally be equipped with a whopping 1,455 watts and 21 individually controlled speakers. In addition to Carmine Red, the optional GTS interior package is now also available in Neo Slate Grey.
The fastest recharge on the market (at least on this side of the world)
The improvements to the Taycan GTS are not just aesthetic. The latest generation of the system Porsche Driver Experience includes a series of upgrades to propulsion and thermal management, resulting in more efficient performance. The load capacity has also improved, allowing it to reach 320 kW charging power at 800 volt direct current stations, which translates into recharge times of 18 minutes (0-80%). Not only does it have higher peak power, but it also has a better charging curve thanks to better thermal management.
One aspect that stands out especially is the function push-to-passavailable from 5 km/h and offering an additional boost for ten seconds during acceleration. Furthermore, the energy recovery system has been optimized to reach up to 400 kWimproving the overall efficiency of the vehicle.
The GTS-specific chassis comes standard with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) adaptive air suspension and the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) system. Optionally, rear axle steering and the Porsche Active Ride suspension control system with specific adjustment for GTS can be equipped.
Taycan 4: the access version with all-wheel drive
Not everything is unbridled power in the Taycan range. Porsche has also launched the Taycan 4a version that combines efficiency and all-wheel drive. Available with two battery options – Performance and Performance Plus -, the Taycan 4 reaches 435 hp (320 kW) maximum power with Launch Control activated and homologated up to 643 kilometers of autonomy with the largest battery.
Despite having an all-wheel drive system, Porsche has fine-tuned its strategy to maximize efficiency. The front motor automatically disengages when not needed, reducing energy consumption. This sports sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 secondsnot bad for an access version.
The standard equipment of the Taycan 4 includes aerodynamic wheels of 19 inchesthe headlights Matrix LED, the PASM adaptive air suspension and the sports steering wheel, among other elements.
