Two little angels flew to heaven
So much emotion to the funeral of the two dead children in Verona, following the collapse of a cover of the stone icebox in the park of Lessinia where Michele and Tommaso, aged only 8 and 7, were. To celebrate the funeral of the two little victims was Monsignor Giuseppe Zenti, the bishop of Verona.
8-year-old Michele and 7-year-old Tommaso died on Saturday 4th July 2021 in Lessinia, due to the collapse of a cover of a stone icebox. They were there with their families to enjoy a day outdoors and have a quiet picnic.
A real tragedy that took place in front of the eyes of the parents of the little ones, who could not do anything to save their lives.
Dead children in Verona, the words of the children’s fathers
The father of the 8-year-old child who died with his seven-year-old friend, he wanted to greet the two children with these words that move everyone:
This is not goodbye, I know, because one day we will end up with your big toothless smile.
The father of Tommasoinstead, he adds:
You and Michele were always united, always close, always in front of everyone, even on Saturday – playing on that damned icebox – you left together, without saying goodbye. We will miss all your joy and energy. Now run among the angels of heaven but always watch over your brothers and sisters and over us, our little angels.
Finally, the bishop of Verona invited us to thank
these two wonderful guys who taught us that life should be lived to the fullest. This is the moment of silence. Feel them as your great friends who smile at us from heaven. We invoke God’s mercy on our frailties.
There was great emotion in the town for the city mourning announced by the mayor of the Venetian city, Federico Sboarina, who was also present at the funeral celebration.
