Independiente Medellín could not beat the last in the table, Unión Magdalena: they tied 0-0 at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, in a day in which the first three of the League, Nacional, Tolima and Millonarios, had surprising defeats, on date 16.
América de Cali tied this Sunday 1-1 with Deportivo Cali, in the return of Costa Rican coach Alexandre Guimaraes with the “Red Devils” that further complicated their chances of advancing to the next phase of the Colombian league led by Atlético Nacional with 33 points.

The result could have been worse for those from Guimaraes because those led by Venezuelan Rafael Dudamel missed a penalty but then went ahead with a goal from gunner Téofilo Gutiérrez.
However, the experienced Adrián Ramos equalized the score from a penalty shot, a result that leaves the team with 19 points in box 14. Cali is penultimate with 14 integers and no longer able to advance to the next round.
Apart from the sports results, in all the stadiums there was a minute of silence as a tribute to Freddy Rincón, the former soccer player who left his mark on Colombian teams and who died last Wednesday after suffering a traffic accident in Cali.
Four days before the end of the all-against-all phase, the eight classified for the semifinal home runs are: Atlético Nacional (33), Deportes Tolima (32), Millonarios (32), Independiente Medellín (27), Junior (26), Eleven Caldas (24), Atlético Bucaramanga (24) and Envigado (23).
One of the most surprising results this Sunday on date 16 was the 0-1 defeat of Atlético Nacional against Águilas Doradas, team led by Leonel Álvarez. The winning goal was the work of Daniel Mantilla.
Another great that charged with a setback was Millonarios who fell 0-1 on his visit to Deportivo Pereira. Santiago Montoya came out on the shoulders, who scored the goal of the comforting victory “Matecaña”.
Despite the fall, Millonarios is third with 32 points, the same as Deportes Tolima, which wins the position for the highest number of goals scored. On the other hand, a manifest superiority was the one that Junior showed on Saturday by defeating Atlético Bucaramanga 2-0, with which those led by the Argentine Juan Cruz Real continue in the fight to keep a place among the eight teams that go to the next round.
At the moment the Sharks have 26 points in 16 outings, which leave them in fifth place in the tournament played by 20 teams.
Deportivo Pasto, meanwhile, surprised by defeating Deportes Tolima at home, which was looking for the three points that will make it the leader.
