The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) will allow recovering 2 points of the card to the drivers of mopeds, motorcycles and cars that voluntarily overcome a course of driving safe and efficient. This is collected in the Last order Collected in the Official State Gazette (BOE), which sets the implementation of these formations 20 days after publication. That is, as of March 26.
They are established two types of courses depending on the vehicle: one for cars and one for motorcycles and mopeds. This second includes two modalities depending on the type of road (safe and efficient driving courses in urban zone and another for conventional road).
Drivers have to meet several requirements. For example, having a valid and in force “that enables them to drive the vehicles of the category that is used in each course” and provided that at the time of their realization “keep a positive balance of points.”
To overcome it, the DGT will give you two additional points up to a limit of 15with a maximum frequency of one course of each type every two years. Beyond the bonus, traffic intends that these formations become a resource for user resort, so that they can improve their driving, making it safer and more efficient.
In the end, they remember, the objective “is to train drivers in different techniques aimed at avoiding claims, preparing the driver to solve dangerous situations, adopting good practices in driving and equipment and avoiding in any case any reference to sports driving.”
THEORETICAL AND PRACTICE TRAINING
Each course will have a Minimum duration of six school hourswith theoretical training and practical training of maneuvers and circulation. It can be done in one or two sessions, clarifies the DGT.
The Theoretical partwhich will have a minimum of one hour and 45 minutes, can be distributed throughout the sessions, interspersing it with the practical formation to strengthen the messages, and half an hour must be taught at the beginning of the course and another half an hour at the end of it by way of conclusions. In the case of the Practical trainingit will last four hours and 15 minutes and will be done both in a closed circuit and in the open roads.
