This is how much Viaplay has become more expensive (AGAIN)…

Wow, Viaplay has become more expensive, but how much? Well, so much!

Well, sometimes it's quite easy to spot the 'cause and case' case. For example, all Autoblog editors have a birthday in April. This means that all our parents had a good time in July the year before we were born, probably during the Formula 1 recess, which is exactly why we want to watch all the races (probably).

But yes, watching Formula 1 is becoming increasingly expensive, we can tell you. In the past, way back in the day, it was simply free. Then you turned on RTL 5 and watched the race. Olav Mol turned the knobs by occasionally turning on a commercial break. He did that very cleverly, so during the safety car phases there were suddenly four blocks, but towards the end the cheerful F1 commentator made sure that we had had all the commercials. He even explained live how he arranged that. What a hero.

Viaplay AGAIN more expensive

But yeah, that was the end. Nowadays you have to pay a lot to be able to watch races, not even a small amount. In the Netherlands, Viaplay is the provider of moving F1 images and they have less of Olav Mol. It appears that the Scandinavian party is the big winner in the financial wrangling and monetary tug-of-war competition. Three guesses to whom this will be passed on? Yes, the customer! Sure!

Viaplay was already expensive, you paid 15.99 for the service. But that will now be higher: 17.99 euros. That is 215.88 per year! That's a really crazy amount of money for grainy images and the opinions of WTCC drivers.

F1TV is now also insanely expensive

The problem is that they can just make it. F1TV is no longer possible per year. This has now also become a monthly subscription. You have to pay 11.99 euros per month for this. To make it extra confusing, that 17.99 from Viaplay includes F1TV, if you find the opinion of British world champions like Hill & Button more important. So yes, it is still a nice subscription, although they have removed Frasier from the package. That's a shame.

Further options are scarce, but we can imagine that due to these enormous price increases, consumers will agree and opt for a VPN or stream. It is logical that things cost money, but paying 215 euros per year to listen to the Dutch national anthem 19 times is a lot of money. So our question to you is: will you still pay for this?
