It is clear that the objective of most Chinese brands is to gain a significant number of sales in Europe. For this reason, a good part of the companies that come to light, one of their goals is to expand, leave China and establish themselves in the Old Continent market. This is something that has been revealed over time, as brands such as BYD, Xpeng or Dongfeng, among others, are already a regular feature on the streets of the cities of the Western continent.
Now there is another one in line to access this market. Specifically we talk about GAC Aiona really well-known electric car brand in China, although very little or nothing in Europe. However, in the coming years it could give a lot to talk about, since is already preparing its landing in the Old Continentand it will do so with an electric model that will rival alternatives such as the MG4, BYD Dolphin or the Volkswagen ID.3, among others.
New images of the GAC Aion UT
Just a few days ago the first images of the GAC Aion UT were seen through a leak. Now, taking advantage of this momentum, it has been the Chinese brand itself that has published new photographs of this electric car. In aesthetic terms it does not present any new features, except for some exterior decorations, with respect to the illustrations presented at the beginning of this month of November, although new and interesting data are known.
According to data extracted from China’s own Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the GAC Aion UT will have the following measures: 4,270 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,575 mm high. Its wheelbase will be marked at 2,750 mm. These measures, as we have already mentioned, will be comparable to several compact electric models that can already be found on the European market.
The GAC Aion UT will have a single electric motor capable of delivering 136 HP. Later it could include new engines with higher power levels. Its power will come from an LFP battery of still unknown capacity. Despite this, it is known that the model will obtain a approved autonomy of up to 600 kilometersaccording to the Chinese CLTC approval cycle.
According to what they publish from the media CarNewsChinathe GAC Aion UT will start from a price below 100,000 yuan (about 13,000 euros at the current exchange rate). For reference, this price is very close to the initial cost to purchase a BYD Dolphin or an MG4 in China, and is noticeably more affordable than a Volkswagen ID.3 in the eastern country.
For now, it is unknown what its starting price will be when this electric car lands in Europe. However, it should start around 30,000 euroswithout including aid or discounts, if it intends to be on par with its closest Chinese rivals. There is also no official date for their landing in the Old Continent, although everything indicates that this could occur. at the end of next 2025 or even well into the year 2026.
