This Friday at noon he leaves for China the first of 10 scheduled flights in July to search for a shipment of 8 million Sinopharm vaccines against coronavirus. It is the largest operation to date.
The flight part at 12.50 from Ezeiza international airport and is scheduled to return to the country at 7:10 p.m. on Sunday.
The other nine flights will repeat the same flight plan, from the middle of next week and on consecutive days.
This batch is part of the new agreement that Argentina signed with the Chinese laboratory to acquire another 24 million vaccines. So far, the country received 6 million from this brand.
As reported by the Ministry of Health, the contract stipulates the arrival of 8 million doses in July, another 8 million in August and the final 8 million in September.

While awaiting the arrival of this large flow of doses, the country is beginning to evaluate the possibility of combining different vaccines to compensate for the low availability of Sputnik V component 2 vaccines. As reported Clarion, the issue was discussed this Wednesday at the meeting of the National Immunization Commission (CoNaIn).
Meanwhile, the City is facing your own research to analyze which vaccine against covid-19 Sputnik V can be combined with. At this moment the issue is being evaluated by its Ethics Committee.

The arrival of Sinopharm on a large scale is good news as it is one of the vaccines that is planned to be studied as a possible combination.
Of the three vaccines that are being applied in Argentina, Sinopharm’s is the one with the least effectiveness, according to a survey carried out by the Ministry of Health, which was presented this Wednesday at the CoNaIn meeting.
The objective of the research was to estimate the effectiveness in reducing mortality from COVID-19 in a real-life study, in people aged 60 years and over, with the vaccination strategy implemented by Argentina between January and June 2021.
According to the health portfolio, after the application of the first dose Sputnik V achieved an effectiveness of 74%, AstraZeneca reached 79.5% and Sinopharm was in 61.6%.
With the complete immunization scheme -that is, with the two injections- the effectiveness rose to 93.3% with Sputnik V, to 88.8% with AstraZeneca and 84% with Sinopharm.
The arrival of Sputnik V
This Friday a shipment of 1.1 million arrived of Sputnik V doses to Ezeiza on an Aerolineas Argentinas flight from Moscow.
This amount, which represents a record in the transfer of vaccines, was made possible by a change in the boxes that allowed a higher volume of doses to be consolidated inside the plane.
With the cargo that this plane brought, the country already has almost 27 million doses, within the framework of the immunization campaign against Covid-19.
