Ciudad Juarez.- In order to raise funds for the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (Aprocancer), AC, they will hold the eleventh “Zumbatón Aprocancer 2024”, on October 19.
The event is organized by Gilda Arroyo, daughter of a breast cancer survivor, who when she became a Zumba instructor, started this activity in gratitude to God because her mother managed to recover, she said. “It is like a favor that I owe to God and to life, because when we went through that situation, family and friends helped us. Now I motivate the Zumba community of Juárez and El Paso to help the girls from Aprocáncer,” said the interviewee. This year, about twenty groups of instructors will participate, she said. “They invite other students and they in turn make the general call, and we sell the t-shirts, the money raised is donated to the association,” said Arroyo. The guest this 2024 will be Luis David de los Ángeles, a Zumba specialist who comes from Tehuacán, Puebla. For her part, Raquel Velázquez, administrator of the association, mentioned that they care for 25 patients with oncological diseases. He said that chemotherapy treatments cost between 50 and 100 thousand pesos for each application, and patients require several sessions. He mentioned that the event will be held on that date because it commemorates the International Day Against Breast Cancer. The event will be held at the Lic. Benito Juárez adapted gymnasium, in the facilities of Parque Central, at 10:00 in the morning. Registration will begin at 9:30 in the morning. The recovery fee is 250 pesos and a t-shirt is included.
