These are the bodies of Duberney Capador, who was accused of being the leader of the operation to assassinate the Haitian president and who died by a coup de grace; and the ex-military Javier Mauricio Romero and Miguel Garzón, also deceased at the scene of the assassination.
According to the authorities, The bodies of the three Colombian ex-military personnel will be cremated due to the poor state they are in. This is due to the fact that the morgue in which their bodies rest in Haiti is in precarious conditions, which would have caused deterioration.
The decision to cremate them was made with the consent of the relatives of the deceased, who since last January had expressed their desire for cremation after the difficulties they experienced in repatriating the bodies to Colombia.
However, it was not until this week that the Haitian government and authorities officially began the process for cremation.
