CNN fired three employees who violated company rules by returning to work without being vaccinated. CNN president Jeff Zucker announced the dismissal of staff members in a memo sent yesterday reminding them that vaccines are mandatory if they show up in the office or in the field where they come into contact with other employees.
“Let me be clear – we have a zero tolerance policy on this,” wrote Zucker, president of news and sports for WarnerMedia. Most of CNN offices are already open with return in attendance on a voluntary basis, and Zucker said more than a third of the news staff have returned. Evidence of vaccination was left on his word, he said, but that could change in the coming weeks.
