The emergency services rescued a hiker who had fainted while walking through the Sierra de La Muela and Cabo Tiñoso, in the municipality of Cartagena, according to sources from the Emergency Coordination Center.
The Murcia Region 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center received a call at 12:40 p.m., reporting the need for assistance for a hiker who had fainted and lost consciousness. Despite recovering it later, it was impossible for him to continue on his way. The patient is a 61-year-old man.
Apparently, they were four adults who were making an excursion in the Sierra de La Muela and Cabo Tiñoso, following the path that goes from the summit of Campillo to Boletes, in the municipality of Cartagena.
A helicopter from the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies, Civil Protection of Cartagena and members of the Firefighting and Rescue Consortium (CEIS) of the Region of Murcia participated in the rescue.
The man was transferred to the Hospital General Universitario Santa Lucía, in the port city, around 12:40 p.m.
