The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has learned through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI) of an alert notification sent by the health authorities of Catalonia regarding the possible presence of plastic fibers in ‘Sun Snacks’ brand snack products marketed by ALDI.
The company itself has informed in a note for consumers of the withdrawal of all units of ‘Ondulated’, ‘Ondulated ham flavor’, ‘Campesinas’ and ‘Al point de sal’ potato chips of said brand with a best-before date (FCP) between December 29, 2024 and January 20, 2025, both included. According to the information available, the initial distribution of these snacks has been to all the autonomous communities with the exception of Ceuta.
This information has been communicated by the company to the competent authorities, in compliance with the legislation and in order to not making unsafe food available to the population. The AESAN has also recommended that people who have products affected by this alert at home, refrain from consuming them.
